Thirty-nine gray-painted junkers loom against the Nebraska sky in a perfect circle, as absurd and strangely reverent as the megaliths they mimic.
It's the rare roadside stunt that actually delivers — a full-scale replica of Stonehenge built from vintage American automobiles, planted in the middle of Panhandle grassland. Jim Reinders raised it in 1987 as a memorial to his father, and the sincerity underneath the silliness is what makes it stick. Free, uncrowded, and unforgettable.
